Accessibility Statement

Version 1.0
Date: 14 July 2026

1 Our commitment

NightSkyOptics wants everyone to be able to use the webshop nightskyoptics.eu, including people with a visual, auditory, motor or cognitive disability. Astronomy is for everyone, and so is our webshop. We work continuously to make and keep our webshop accessible.

2 Legal framework and standards

This statement is made in the light of the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) and the Belgian legislation implementing it, which apply to online sales services.

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1, level AA, and the related European standard EN 301 549 as our reference for the accessibility of the webshop.

3 What we do

We take accessibility into account in the design and maintenance of the webshop. Among other things, we pay attention to the following points.

  • Sufficient colour contrast between text and background.
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images.
  • The possibility to navigate with a keyboard.
  • A logical page structure with clear headings.
  • Forms with clear labels and understandable error messages.
  • Clear and understandable language in our texts and policies.
  • Text that can be enlarged without loss of content or function.

We also take accessibility into account when we choose or update the software our webshop runs on.

4 Where we stand

Accessibility is a continuous effort. Parts of the webshop may not yet be fully accessible, for example older content or materials such as manuals and images supplied by manufacturers. We review the webshop on a regular basis and improve it step by step.

5 Compatibility

The webshop is designed to work with current versions of common browsers and with assistive technology such as screen readers. We cannot guarantee full functionality with outdated browsers or software.

6 Feedback and assistance

Do you experience a barrier on our webshop, or can you not reach certain content or complete a purchase? Let us know at info@nightskyoptics.eu. Describe the problem and the page where it occurs. We take every report seriously and respond as soon as possible.

On request we provide the information on our webshop, including our terms and policies, in an accessible format, for example by email or by telephone.

7 Enforcement

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your report, you can contact the Belgian authority that supervises the accessibility of online sales services, the Federal Public Service Economy, through economie.fgov.be.

8 About this statement
