Baader Planetarium M48 Extension Tube – 5mm

Modern astronomical cameras increasingly feature very short optical backfocus, allowing them to be used with a wide range of telescope configurations. The traditional T-2 standard, with its 5 mm thread depth, can limit this flexibility by unnecessarily increasing the required optical path.

To accommodate modern camera designs and minimise optical length, Baader has adopted a new 3 mm thread-depth standard for its latest T-2 and M48 components. This allows adapters and extension tubes to be used in increasingly compact optical configurations while preserving the flexibility of the Baader system.
