The Duplex Moon Atlas is a detailed field atlas designed specifically for observers who want to explore the lunar surface at the telescope. Its distinctive concept provides separate chart sections for refractors used with a star diagonal and for reflecting telescopes, making it easier to match the charts to the orientation seen through your instrument.
The atlas contains 38 detailed charts covering the entire lunar nearside, together with eight additional charts showing regions of the farside that can become visible from Earth during favourable librations. Based on high-resolution data from NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, the charts identify around 1,261 named lunar features, approximately 6,000 secondary craters, and the landing sites of human spacecraft that have reached the lunar surface.
Designed for practical use at the eyepiece, the charts have consistent illumination and colours optimized for viewing under a red observing light. The wire-o binding allows the pages to lie flat and makes individual charts easy to consult, while the laminated paper is resistant to dew and can simply be wiped clean.
With its exceptional level of detail, practical design, and comprehensive indexing, the Duplex Moon Atlas is an excellent companion for serious lunar observers who want to identify and explore the Moon’s surface in detail.
