The Vaonis Vespera Pro II is the flagship smart telescope in the Vaonis range, combining premium apochromatic optics, a high-resolution astronomical sensor and advanced astrophotography controls in a fully automated imaging system. Designed for enthusiasts who demand the highest image quality from a compact smart telescope, it delivers detailed deep-sky images with the simplicity of smartphone-controlled operation.
The Vaonis Vespera Pro II is the flagship model in the Vespera range, designed for astrophotographers who want the convenience of a fully automated smart telescope without compromising on image quality or creative control. Combining premium apochromatic optics, a high-resolution astronomical camera and advanced imaging tools into a single portable instrument, it delivers exceptional deep-sky imaging performance while remaining remarkably simple to operate from a compatible smartphone or tablet.
While maintaining the intuitive smartphone-controlled experience that has made Vaonis smart telescopes so popular, the Vespera Pro II is engineered for users looking to move beyond fully automatic image capture. Advanced imaging controls, RAW data output and support for calibration frames provide greater flexibility during both image acquisition and post-processing, allowing experienced users to extract the maximum detail from every observing session.
At the heart of the telescope is a 50mm apochromatic refractor featuring a Petzval-inspired quadruplet optical design with lanthanum glass and an integrated field corrector. This advanced optical configuration is designed to minimise chromatic aberration while producing a naturally flat imaging field, ensuring sharp stars and excellent contrast across the entire image. With a 245mm focal length and fast f/4.9 focal ratio, the Vespera Pro II is ideally suited to wide-field astrophotography, capturing expansive nebulae, galaxies, star clusters and rich Milky Way star fields in impressive detail.
Image acquisition is handled by the Sony IMX676 CMOS sensor, producing native 12.5-megapixel square-format images with excellent sensitivity and low noise characteristics. The combination of premium optics and a modern back-illuminated sensor enables the telescope to record fine structure within deep-sky objects while maintaining excellent image quality under a wide range of observing conditions.
Using the Vaonis Singularity app, users simply select an object from the integrated astronomical catalogue before the telescope automatically performs target acquisition, plate solving, precise centring and continuous tracking. As images are collected, the telescope automatically aligns and stacks individual exposures in real time, progressively revealing faint astronomical detail without requiring specialist astrophotography knowledge.
Unlike entry-level smart telescopes that prioritise fully automatic operation, the Vespera Pro II provides access to many of the controls found in dedicated astrophotography systems. Manual adjustment of exposure time, gain and framing, together with support for calibration frames and 16-bit RAW file export, gives users the flexibility to process images using professional software such as PixInsight or Siril, making it an excellent choice for enthusiasts who enjoy refining every stage of the imaging process.
The integrated CovalENS mosaic technology further expands the telescope’s capabilities by automatically combining multiple fields into seamless high-resolution panoramic images. This allows large nebulae, galaxy groups and other expansive celestial targets to be captured at resolutions of up to 50 megapixels, revealing detail beyond the telescope’s native field of view.
Designed for extended imaging sessions, the Vespera Pro II incorporates 225GB of internal storage and a rechargeable battery capable of providing up to 11 hours of operation. A built-in humidity and temperature sensor automatically activates the integrated anti-fog system when conditions require it, helping maintain optimum optical performance throughout the night.
Despite its advanced capabilities, the Vespera Pro II remains compact and highly portable. Integrated Wi-Fi provides a direct wireless connection to a compatible smartphone or tablet, eliminating the need for external cameras, computers or complicated cable management while keeping setup quick and straightforward.
As a dedicated smart telescope, the Vespera Pro II is designed exclusively for digital astronomy and astrophotography. It does not include an eyepiece and cannot be used as a conventional visual telescope. Instead, all observing, image capture and telescope control are performed through the Vaonis Singularity app, providing an intuitive experience for beginners while offering the advanced imaging tools and creative flexibility demanded by experienced astrophotographers.
Representing the pinnacle of the Vaonis Vespera range, the Vespera Pro II combines premium optics, intelligent automation and advanced astrophotography features into one elegant portable system. It offers the simplicity expected of a smart telescope while delivering the image quality, flexibility and processing potential sought by serious astronomy enthusiasts.
